The University will host an International Conference within the Cross-Border Cooperation Program “Poland–Belarus–Ukraine”, which this year will deal with health security in the territory specified in the program. Dr. Leszek Buller, Director of the Center for European Projects (Warsaw, Republic of Poland), announced this on September 21 during a meeting at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
The working meeting was attended by Anatolii Tsos, Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Vadym Ulianov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and Innovations, Marta Sydoruk, a representative of the Rector's office, Maria Fenko, an associate professor of the Department of General Pedagogy and Preschool Education, and Maciej Tadeusz Kulak, Vice President of the Institute of Memory and Cultural Heritage of the Eastern Borderlands in Warsaw.
Anatolii Tsos greeted the guests with the following words: “We are very interested in good cooperation. We have 48 partner universities, 31 of them are from Poland. Moreover, we have developed a program "Dual Degree". More than one hundred students study under this program in Poland. We have a lot of good joint projects. I will do my best to ensure we have productive cooperation."
The representatives of the Polish side, for their part, highlighted the good history of cooperation and partnership between the participants of the meeting. The participants discussed the organizational aspects of the conference. In particular, it has been said that the conference will be held in a "mixed" mode. That is, some participants will take part in the conference in person, and some will join it online.
The program of the conference includes plenary and breakout sessions, a city tour, and presentation of the results of the projects implemented in the city of Lutsk with the support of the program "Poland–Belarus–Ukraine 2014–2020".
The conference will we held at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University on November 18–20. The thematic areas of the conference are:
- an increase of the effectiveness of prevention and control of infectious diseases;
- socio-economic consequences of epidemiological situations;
- coordination of the activities of services and inspections in case of epidemiological threats;
- accurate reporting of epidemic threats by various information centers, including government agencies and the media;
- diversity of positions and opinions of experts and scientists on countering pandemic threats.
“This is a good promotion for us, because we have specialties related to these issues. It will be a very good conference. We will be happy to join it,” Rector Anatolii Tsos summed up the meeting.
