With deep understanding of the importance of unity and work during these tragic days, apart from their studies, the students of the Faculty of Information Technology and Mathematics try to work in all possible directions.
First of all, this is called the information “front”. The FITM Student Council has created an initiative team, even with its own name, which is actively working fully realising all the professional competencies of the specialties 122 Computer Science and 125 Cybersecurity.
In general, the faculty student volunteer movement is guided by Yana Dmytruk, a fourth-year student majoring in 122 Computer Science. Many good initiatives have been fulfilled by the entire FITM student community.
Yes, our students took patronage over people who had to flee russian aggression in Kyiv region and stay now at the Lutsk Lyceum № 28.
Our students organised a master class for these people on making Easter eggs, which was conducted by Yana Dmytruk, FITiM Deputy Dean Kateryna Padalko and considerate student Anna Kazmiruk. Not only children, but also mothers, grandmothers and even lyceum teachers joined the interesting and creative work.
The organisers started the event with a short excursion for participants around the world of Easter eggs and their ornaments, and then moved on to the practical part.
It turned out that some participants had already made Easter eggs, so it was easier for them to understand the essence of the work. However, everyone got more interested, instead of making one Easter egg, some presented three or four.
The Dean of the Faculty Svitlana Yatsyuk handed over sweet treats to the children, and she is the inspiration for our volunteering in general. In addition, a few days ago, third-year students of 014 Secondary Education (Mathematics) Anna Migdal and Kateryna Moroz, active participants in FITM student self-government for children who left their homes due to the aggression of the russian federation, conducted a “Mathematical Quest”.
With great enthusiasm, the children participated in all the proposed competitions and were extremely active. I especially liked the competition “Mathematical puzzle”, which truly develops the creative potential of youngesters. The children did not miss the competitions “Find numbers” and “Anagrams”, which develop attention and logic. And in the competitions “Mathematical Pyramids” and “Crossword” they showed excellent teamwork.
It was friendship to win the competitions. To consolidate these positive emotions, our students organised a candy bar which made the children especially happy, as their eyes shone with joy. The management of the lyceum and their subordinates expressed sincere words of gratitude and invitations.
