Rector of the University Anatolii Tsos, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Communications Natalia Blahovirna, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism Lilia Lavrynovych held a working meeting with Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk Slawomir Misiak, Vice-Consul Tereza Khrushch, and a literature scholar Ostap Slyvynskyi. The conversation took place on October 1.
Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University Anatolii Tsos was the first to speak, thanking the audience for the opportunity to meet and inviting them to celebrate the university's birthday: “Thank you very much for finding the opportunity to visit our University again. We are preparing a scenario for the University's birthday celebration. We will try not to invite many people because of the pandemic but we would very much like to invite representatives of the consulate."
Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk Slawomir Misiak thanked the Rector for the invitation and cooperation. “We are glad that the University is always open for us, and we can involve your students in events. For us, it is an opportunity to show the peculiarities of Polish culture. We have had such intensive cooperation for almost ten years,” Vice-Consul Tereza Khrushch said.
Then the audience discussed the work of Nobel Laureate Olga Tokarczuk. Ostap Slyvynskyi, a literary scholar, spoke about her work and life. "Olga and I have known each other for a long time. It always seemed to me that success came to her unexpectedly," he said.
“In Ukraine, there was a period when her works were translated more often than works of any other Polish author. She is very honest with herself and the world,” Lilia Lavrynovych said.
Rector Anatoly Tsos asked Ostap Slyvynskyi and the heads of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk to help Olga Tokarczuk visit Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
