The State Enterprise "Security Archaeological Service of Ukraine" of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences and Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University have signed a cooperation agreement.
The meeting was attended by the rector of the university Anatolii Tsos, the vice-rector for educational work and recruitment Yurii Hromyk, dean of the Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security Bohdan Yarosh and the deputy director of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve, a researcher of the Security Archaeological Service of Ukraine Viktor Baiuk.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the field of research of archeological monuments ofUkraine. In particular, it concerns the co-organization of scientific research within the project "Renovation and restoration works of architectural monuments of national importance: the Jesuit monastery" and the defensive tower with a wall in the city of Lutsk. Ten students of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University will take part in these projects.
It is important that students of the University will be involved in the expedition of the Security Archaeological Service. In addition, Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University and the Archaeological Protection Service will carry out joint practical monument protection activities: scientific archaeological research, conferences, seminars, lectures, etc.
The Security Archaeological Service will also assist our university with qualified archaeologists, provide scientific consultations, and the service will send their specialists to conduct lectures, practical classes for students of the University, if needed.
"We will cooperate not only in these projects. There are also public and private commissions. We will teach children and perform tasks together," said Viktor Baiuk.
Rector Anatolii Tsos emphasized that such cooperation is very important, as it contains elements of dual education the implementation of which is one of the priorities of the university. “This agreement allows our teachers and students to participate in certain archaeological tasks. It is very important for us. We hope for further cooperation,” Anatolii Tsos summed up.
