Zoriana Verbych, an alumnus of specialty "Political Science" of the History Faculty is the pride of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University.
She began to explore the world at school when she went on an exchange program to study in the USA. As she was a successful political analyst, she won in the competition a one-year Bachelor program course of study in a U.S. college. Excellent knowledge in the professional field and fluency in English made it possible for her to pass a competitive selection and work as a coordinator of the OSCE office in Ukraine. Later, Zoriana continued her education participating in the international Master program in humanitarian aid in Sweden and Germany.
Zoriana has been working for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for several years already. At first, she worked in the ICRC headquarters in Geneva. There were two years of difficult work in Afghanistan. She spent her last year cadence in African Guinea. The work was hard and often dangerous. After all, the Red Cross is usually in the epicenters of flared up conflicts, wars and other humanitarian disasters. Since there are so many hazards and risks in our world, it is extremely important to do everything to minimize them. And this responsible work is carried out also by our alumni who love this planet and people.
Brilliant career, language skills, a number of countries visited, an army of new friends, and plenty of experiences — all these are worth pursuing. A new job and a new country await Zoriana. We wish her good luck!
