On December, 7-8th, 2014, the EENU delegation led by Rector Ihor Kotsan visited John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, where The East European University Network Foundation Agreement was signed. Rector Ihor Kotsan was accompanied by Svitlana Havryliuk, Vice-Rector for Academic Work, Acting Vice-Rector for International Relations Serhii Fedoniuk, and Volodymyr Sobchuk, University Library Director.
The Agrreement signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the universities from Poland, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, including Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Tbilisi State Pedagogical University, Baranovichi State University, Free International University of Moldova, Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University, Kharkiv Regional Institute of Ukrainian Academy of Public Administration at the Office of the President of Ukraine, Khmelnytskyi National University, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University, National University of Ostroh Academy, Ternopil National Economic University, and Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University. The guests agreed that John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin was the leading partner of the association.
The network consists of the Partner Council and Bureau whereas decision makers is the Network Council co-managed by the partner universities’ rectors. The main objective of the Network is fostering collaboration in the field of research, teaching methods, and development of academic exchange programs between the respective higher education institutions. The Network focuses on the following activity: joint implementation of international grants and projects, international studies, holding of joint international conferences and symposia, editing and publishing of scientific journals, teaching and administrative staff exchange, cultural and sport cooperation.
The next meeting of the members of the East European University Network is to be held on January 16, 2015 in EENU. The meeting agenda incudes the issue of launching and implementing first international grants by the University Network participants.
