Rector of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University Anatolii Tsos took part in the first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka. The event took place on July 23 at the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
Let us remind that February 25, 2021 will mark the 150th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka. This day will be celebrated at the state level. On this occasion, Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University is preparing a complete academic collection of the writer's works.
About 30 best scholars from all over Ukraine are already working on the preparation of the 14-volume book. The work was divided according to volumes, directions, genres. Representatives of higher education institutions and academic institutions of Lviv, Chernivtsi, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Ostroh, and Kyiv are involved in the preparation of the edition.
During the meeting, the introductory speech was given by Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, who spoke about the celebration of the 150th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka. The members of the organizing committee discussed the draft of the Events Plan to mark the solemn date.
Rector of the university Anatolii Tsos spoke about the preparation of a complete academic collection of works by Lesya Ukrainka. In particular, that the preparation of texts will be completed by the end of September. At the same time, 14 groups of scholars-researchers of Lesya Ukrainka's life and work are also involved in the process. In addition, the preparation of PDF-formats of volumes of the full academic collection of works is planned to be completed by the end of November.
The head of Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University addressed words of gratitude to all those who supported and helped to implement this important project. In particular, Anatolii Tsos thanked the People's Deputy Iryna Konstankevych, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the head of the department Oleksandr Tkachenko for their support and development of the project. The Rector also expressed gratitude to Oksana Zabuzhko and Vira Ageeva for participation in the project, its promotion and implementation.
