On December, 8 the VNU Rector Anatolii Tsios had a meeting with the students of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health, that had been accepted to the Ukrainian national judo team. The meeting was visited by the Head of Volyn Judo Federation, Vitalii Tereshkevych, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health, Vasyl Pantik and the Vice-Deans Olena Ishchuk and Olha Ivaniuk.
The Rector assured that the University would fully support the judokas in studies and trainings. He encouraged the students to be active in promotion of alma-mater, too. “It is important to promote our athletes, especially those who have such great achievements. People need to know you, and we will help”, said Anatolii Tsios.
Слова подяки дзюдоїстам адресував і декан факультету фізичної культури, спорту та здоров’я Василь Пантік: «У такому складі увійти до національної збірної – це титанічна робота. Я гарантую вам усіляку підтримку».
Очільник Федерації дзюдо Віталій Терешкевич зауважив, що спортсменів націлюють не забувати про те, що вони студенти і їм потрібно навчатися.
Vasyl Pantik, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports and Health also greeted the students: “It is an extremely difficult task to enter the national team. I guarantee full support to you”.
The Head of Volyn Judo Federation, Vitalii Tereshkevych, mentioned that the athletes are aimed to remember that they are also students and they have to study.
According to Vasyl Pantik, the judokas will receive personalized shirts with symbols of their Faculty and the University. Promo videos with best athletes will be screened at the Faculty.
There were brought up the subjects of infrastructure, University Olympiad, etc.
The following students of Lesya Ukrainika University are in the national team: a 3rd-year student Nazar Zubchyk (66 kg weight class), 2nd-year students Oleh Voitov (73 kg) and Kateryna Pylypiuk (48 kg), a 4th-year student Kateryna Kuzhel (52 kg) and 1st-year students Daryna Liashuk (57 kg) and Nataliia Kholod (78 kg). The information was revealed at the extended meeting of coaches from the Ukrainian Judo Federation Council, where the national team for 2021 was formed.
