The closing ceremony of the “Embroidering Ukraine with Science” project at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University was attended by Rector Anatolii Tsos, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Cooperation Lyudmyla Yelisieieva, Head of the Council of Young Scientists Hennadii Holub, Working Group Coordinator Victoria Horbach and young scientists.

Anatolii Tsos noted the scope and delicateness of the work and embroidered several last crosses himself. Vice-Rector Lyudmila Yelisieieva fixed the threads and completed the work on the map.

It is worth reminding that for several months in a row, young scientists, graduate students and students embroidered the map of Volyn region creating elegant authentic ornaments on canvas. The scientists of the University embroidered floral and geometric patterns of the central and southern regions of the region red and blue threads and put all their brightest thoughts and expectations about a free and peaceful Ukraine on the canvas.

The project was initiated by the Council of Young Scientists under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and is aimed at uniting the entire community of young scientists of Ukraine. The result of joint activities will be an embroidered map of Ukraine, in which all regions and Crimea will be connected, symbolising the unity and indomitability of our state. The finished work is going to be placed in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
