The festive events dedicated to the University Day and Lesya Ukrainka Days at Faculty of Philology and Journalism had a literary air. Friday morning was a real poetic discovery for freshmen and seniors. The meeting moderator was Professor Viktor Davidiuk, a competitive tone setter of the event.
According to the rules, the students had to compete in a poetry marathon with lecturers of Department of Ukrainian Literature. The pedagogical team was strengthened by a graduate student Tetiana Reheshuk reciting not only her own works but also a Chinese translation about the "echoes of Ukrainian trenches". In this connection, she admitted that being proud of her student past at Faculty of Philology and Journalism. This experience broadened my horizons and gave opportunities for self-realisation in other areas and countries as well. Therefore, she wished the current students to gain as much knowledge as possible without being ashamed to express their own opinions, and development to succeed in the future.
Since the poetic dialogues took place on the eve of the second anniversary of the muscovites' full-scale attack on Ukraine, the first part of the meeting was devoted to the poetry about the war.
The second part of the recitation of his own works is dedicated to the great Love. The participants of the conversation also shared their poems on philosophical and religious topics. Sketches were also presented, and mostly existential, self-absorbed lyrics.
Notably, heavy, military themes alternated with optimistic motives. The seriousness of the event was enhanced by the presence of representatives of Department of Ukrainian Literature from National Union of Writers of Ukraine. Tetiana Reheshuk was accompanied by Professor Halyna Yastrubetska and Head of the department Viktor Yaruchyk. Professor Viktor Davidiuk (who's creative pseudonym is Bratko Tobolis) and Assistant Professor Olena Malaniy also shared their candid poetic confessions with everyone. Not yet read her poems, but promised to do so later, Academic Secretary of Lesya's University, Assistant Professor Larysa Semeniuk.
The greatest applause from experienced fellow poets were received by the emotional, youthfully burning poems of the students Yulia Materatska, Yulia Forsiuk, Karolina Yariz and Yulia Merida. The original images of "sketch of broken tears", "embroidered war", "rule of two walls", "tied combat boots" of the young heroine-warrior, "soldier's eyes in the scope", "betrayal as a set of sins" moved, added positive emotions, and aesthetic pleasures. The poems sounded not only in Ukrainian, but also Chinese and Polish.
The winner of the poetic dialogue has not yet been selected, and the participants of the event decided that the second round of the literary experience should be held in a new location in the near future. The symbiosis of life and youthful enthusiasm with masters of poetic word sharing their experience and drawing energy from young people is an important tool for overcoming one's own creative insecurity of philology students and future teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature.
