On June, 17, an interesting and vitally important meeting between master’s degree students of the specialty 071 Accounting and taxation (EP “Accounting and taxation”) and the head of the psychological service of the University, practicing psychologist, Ph.D. in Psychology Tetyana Kulyk was held. The meeting was also attended by Anna Safarova, supervisor of master’s degree students, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor, Myroslava Kulinych, second (master’s) degree EP Guarantor, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor, Iryna Sadovska, head of the Department of Accounting and Taxation, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and other teachers of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
In the course of communication, Tetyana Kulyk informed the audience about the specific features of psychological support in wartime, illustrated concrete examples based on her practical experience, regarding the formation of effective mechanisms for recovery from serious psychological post-traumatic states, avoiding possible psycho-emotional trauma, forming appropriate behavioral algorithm for an individual under stress caused by military actions and continuous complexities in fighting the aggressor. The psychologist thoroughly and clearly revealed the concept of military stress, effectively classified the stages of the behavioral mechanism for an individual in order to avoid additional stress and panic factors. Besides, Tetyana Kulyk characterized in detail the rules of behavior that will help each individual minimize their psychological losses and psycho-emotional trauma during the war with the aggressor and in the post-war period.
This exceptionally interesting and relevant meeting was effectively complemented by characterizing specific features of psychological support and formation of an appropriate educational environment for students with special educational needs. Tetyana Kulyk also outlined the mechanism for paying social scholarships to the students of concessional categories, which is constantly functioning at the University and was not interrupted even in the first days of the Russian military aggression.
The meeting with the head of the psychological service of Lesya Ukrainka University was followed by the questions from the students about the mechanism of submitting applications to the psychological service in the higher educational institution, anonymity and free of charge availability of such applications, etc.
We express our sincere gratitude to Tetyana Kulyk for this extremely important meeting, its relevance and significance that was further confirmed by immediate feedback from the students in the form of questions, which proves that the students were interested in the issues presented by the speaker. Myroslava Kulinich, the guarantor of the EP “Accounting and Taxation”, expressed her expectation for further systematic cooperation with the psychological service of the University in order to ensure just-in-time support and proper conditions for maintaining psychological health of the “Accounting and Taxation” students.
