The lecturers and students of the Faculty of Primary Education and Social Work of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, supported by the Department of Youth and Sports of Lutsk City Council, conduct educational and developmental classes for children who were internally displaced to Lutsk due to the russian aggression. The “Family Leisure” Club is attended by children and mothers from Chernihiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Luhansk regions, currently living in our university dormitories.
The Coordinator Valentina Vitiuk noted that each lesson is rich in content and has diversified forms of children’s activities. Thus, Associate Professor Borys Kotsun spoke about Volyn region, Professor Valentina Vityuk conducted a flash mob “We are from Ukraine”, a virtual tour of Lutsk, children built Lubart’s castle from the System bulding blocks, 6 Legobricks. Associate Professor Svitlana Budnik organised a series of master classes "Mini-garden behind glass: florarium”, “Garden on the windowsill”, “Making an ecological grass toy”, “Aquarium for a rooster Betta splendens”, research projects “How plants drink” water?”,“The art of kokedama in a moss ball”,“Eco-paintings of Volyn”.
The children listened with special enthusiasm to Andriy Zdikhovsky’s assistant at the Toy Museum, viewed the exhibits with sincere curiosity, and talked about their toys. In accordance with the tasks of volunteer practice, the first-year students of the specialty 016 Special Education spend with children active games, musical drills, etc.
While children attend classes, their mothers can train on fitness classes conducted by teachers of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health. Each lesson ends with a family tea party in the primary education laboratory. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Pur-pur cafe for the donated sweets. On Monday, children will be treated to a comprehensive dinner “Cafe de Vino”.
