April 6 is the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. This day was chosen not by chance. It was on this day in 1894 that the First Olympic Games began in Athens, bringing together athletes from 14 countries. Today is a message for each of us to remind the importance of sport and appreciate its role, especially in this difficult period for the whole Ukraine, the war. After all, sports and daily physical activity are an integral part of our lives and a manifestation of human freedom, a factor in the realisation of physical and spiritual capabilities.
Within the framework of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University “Family Leisure” Club, lecturers of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health are actively delivering fitness classes to people who were forced to leave their territory due to the the russian occupiers’ aggression.
At the same time, lecturers of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education and Social Work conduct cognitive and developmental classes for children. This is a kind of relaxation for both parents and children.
We invite everyone to join the “Family Leisure” Club where you can at least briefly break away from the endless flow of news and shift the focus of attention to the body, because fitness classes with lecturers of our University will help you overcome stress!
