Oleh Duchiminskyi, a lecturer at the Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health, and Maxym Hnatiuk, an electrical engineer, have jointly developed and implemented an important device to support military and civilians in combat zones and in basements, shelters, dugouts, tents or checkpoints conditions.
An inverter is a voltage converter from 12 V to 220 V, which is made by improving old and faulty computer “uninterruptible power supplies”. This gadget allows receiving 220 V in the absence of centralised power supply when car batteries are available. The power of the device is approximately 300 watts. Several energy-saving lamps or a floodlight can be connected to the inverter, as well as a low-power appliance, walkie-talkies or cell phones. It can also be used when the car or other vehicle battery is connected to the terminals. So far, more than 50 inverters have been transported to the military including the devices provided by Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Let’s join the good cause together!
