During the event, a speech was made by Anatolii Tsios. “It is pleasant to realize that we have such geniuses in Ukraine that serve as symbols of our country. We are lucky to have Lesya Ukrainka for our university to be named after, and the same is true for Taras Shevchenko. This is the genius to represent Ukraine in so many various ways, patriotic one in particular, being committed to Ukraine gaining independence. We ought to be aware of this and do everything to make Ukraine successful”, he said.
Laryssa Ihnatova, the Head of the Department of History and Theory of Arts, served as the supervisor for the event. She commented, “We do realize that Taras Shevchenko is not only a poet but a philosopher indeed who had always been a writer belonging to the Ukrainian identity. We view Taras Shevchenko as a visionary.”
Both students and faculty staff showed their skills in dancing, singing and reciting Shevchenko’s poems.
Exceptional proficiency could be observed in the participants’ singing and playing musical instruments.
