Teaching and Research Centre of Postgraduate Education

Year of foundation: 1981

In 1981 by order of the Ministry of Education the faculty of extension of qualification of principal heads of Volyn, Rivne and Ternopil schools of general education began to work. This faculty gave an opportunity to extend qualification of almost 4000 pedagogical workers. In 1994 because of the enlargement of spheres of work it was renamed into the Faculty of Postgraduate Education.

In 2006 the faculty was successfully licensed for retraining of specialists in 11 fields of full-time and part-time studies: “Jurisprudence”, “Accounting and Audit”, “Finances”, “Psychology”, “Information Technology”, “Language and Literature (English, German)”, “System of Land Tenure and Cadastre”, “Ukrainian Language and Literature”, “Physical Reabilitation”, “Preschool Education”.

In 2009 the Faculty of Postgraduate Education was renamed into Teaching and Research Centre of Postgraduate Education.

Teaching Staff: The high level of training of specialists in the Teaching and Research Centre of Postgraduate Education provide Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University lecturers, invited specialists and leading experts. The qualitative index is as follows: Doctors of Science/Art, Professors – 10%, PhDs, Associate Professors – 72%, Senior Lecturers – 16%, Honoured Workers – 2%. 

Main areas of research: Teaching and Research Centre of Postgraduate Education provides professional qualitative educational services in a wide range of educational programmes taking into consideration the demand of modern economy on labour market and is a constantly active link in the system of continual Ukrainian education. In the period of building up the independent Ukrainian state it was necessary to train economists-bookkeepers, auditors, lawyers, psychologists, social workers who would provide Volyn region with skilled specialists and who would solve the problems of employment of people who in modern conditions are unable to work in the earlier chosen occupation.
